When you walk into your bedroom, do you breathe a sigh of relief?š§š¾āāļø
The bedroom is your place to unwind.
Tips for better sleep:
The bedroom is your sanctuary. There is no room for negative energy, people, conversations, or thoughts allowed in your bedroom. This is your safe space where you can be free from the stressors of the day. Do not allow even your own mind to disrupt your sanctuary. Drop anything you cannot use for better sleep right outside of the bedroom door and put up the 'Do Not Disturb' sign!
Aim for a clutter-free bedroom. A messy bedroom equals a messy night's sleep. Bills, papers, and work do not belong in the bedroom, especially on the dresser staring at you first thing in the morning. Put clothes away and minimize electronic devices. Declutter and set yourself free!
Maintain peace in your bedroom. Do not make unresolved conflicts your pillow. What is the point in going to bed if you are going to carry your problems with you and sleep on them? Let them go until morning if you cannot settle them. Keep noises and lighting down low so that the body knows it is time to settle down. Be peace. Get peace.
Engage in calming practices. Getting into a calm state is not like a light switch that we turn on and off. It takes some preparation. At least 30 minutes before bed use techniques like deep breathing, journaling, meditation, prayer, relaxing music, or restorative yoga to get in the calm zone.
Practice having different conversations in your bedroom and watch what happens. Talk about the softer side of life and leave the complaints about what happened during the day elsewhere. Focus on the good. Diffuse pleasing scents. Dim the lights. Allow yourself to rest your body and your mind. You deserve it. š“
